Personal

In 1992, The Sun said I had the most jobs in Britain (eleven) but I'm down to six now. That’s what happens when you get past sixty!

Main one, of course, is the writing and, after seven Johnny Ace crime novels, I have now written what might be described as a social history of Southport in the 20th century called 'Southport Faces' in which 48 well known local personalities tell of their lives in the town.
My publishing company, Nirvana Books, is going great guns. The current ilist comprises
Spencer Leigh's history of Merseybeat entitled 'Twist & Shout', crime novels by Eileen Dewhurst and Kate Ellis with Joan Rimmer's history of Formby due in 2007.
The rest of the jobs are freelance journalist & photographer (I'm still doing the Southport FC reports for the Southport Champion), broadcaster, after dinner speaker, plus my property company. Life never gets boring.

My RAV4, supplied by Johnsons of Bootle, complete with 'Eliot Ness' running board and blacked out windows. A Johnny Ace vehicle!
Zeberdee (1973-2005) Sadly, Zeberdee passed away on January 27th. He was 32, a very good age for a horse, and had many happy years of semi-retirement grazing in his field with his friends.

Gilbert (1969-2003) A well known and well loved pony. Lived to a ripe old age.

Pippa Age 6 From Freshfield Animal Rescue

Bella. Age 5 Also from Freshfield Animal Rescue. The two dogs are inseperable.

Nikki and Rod are getting married in Las Vegas in December 2006. The reception is in the Cotswolds, the honeymoon in Thailand and they are living at Sydney's Darling Harbour. Talk about globetrotting!

Karen is back living in Formby with boyfriend Andrew and their daughter Emily.
